LA RAIZ COMMUNITY CENTER
A place that honors and uplifts Hispanic heritage while providing essential resources, services, and support that the community has historically lacked
This graduate project was completed collaboratively with one teammate, with shared responsibility for research, design development, and final production.
CONCEPT
Our concept creates a balance between openness and privacy, allowing the building to feel both approachable and protective. Transparent plazas, shaded courtyards, and natural light foster connection and visibility, while quiet rooms and healing gardens offer calm and reflection. Warm materials. earthy tones, and familiar forms draw from Hispanic heritage, creating an environment that feels safe and familiar rather than clinical. More than a clinic, the space becomes a bridge between community and care, a place where stigma is replaced with support, and healing begins through connection and trust
